Position Overview
North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. NVRC offers a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. We are currently seeking energetic, responsible and highly-motivated individuals who are able to prepare and lead Babysitter Training & Home Alone programs.

DUTIES:
As a casual Leadership Instructor 1- Babysitter Training & Home Alone you will be responsible for lesson planning, and delivering a fun and interactive learning experience for school aged children.
Responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring the curriculum is delivered creatively and effectively to participants
  • Willing to learn through a co-teaching method with other NVRC leaders and supervisors
  • Working within the guidelines of the Child Safe Trainer requirements for each course
Requirements
SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Detail-oriented
  • Responsible and able to work with limited supervision
  • Solutions-oriented and adaptable to change
  • An engaging, creative, hands-on, and interactive manner
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates will be a minimum of 16 years of age, with previous experience planning and leading school age and youth programs, have current Standard First Aid, CPR Level C and Babysitter Training/Home Alone credentials. Consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate a willingness to complete the Child Safe Trainer requirements, if currently not certified. High Five certification must be obtained within 3 months of employment.
All employees should be prepared to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position prior to any appointment.
Compensation The range for this casual position ranges from $21-23/hr
Hours of Work Programs run Mon-Fri or Tues-Fri between 9am-1pm. Times vary based on location.
