Responsibilities |
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE You will be delivering excellent customer service experiences by providing personal training, small group classes, fitness testing, youth consultations, and weight room orientation for facility users. You will promote health and wellness related programs and services and provide advice, guidance and referral services relative to health, fitness and wellness matters.
ABOUT YOU You are a courteous and effective team player committed to community. You are reliable, responsive to customer needs and excellent at building relationships. You will promote interest and participation in fitness activities while ensuring safe use of weight room equipment. You have a sound knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of fitness and weight training programs and experience with various types of fitness and weight training equipment. You are able to evaluate fitness levels, develop individual fitness programs, develop and lead small group training programs, and fitness workshops. |
Requirements |
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Completion of a university program and related experience providing Fitness Centre services, including rehabilitation, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License. Emergency First Aid certification or equivalent and CPR Level A. BCRPA Registered Personal Trainer or approved equivalent. All employees will be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position. |
Compensation | The hourly pay for this unionized position ranges from $31.97 - $37.58 per hour (2024 rates), plus 12% in lieu of benefits. |
Hours of Work | This is an auxiliary on-call position involving shift work including days, evenings and weekends. |
