Responsibilities | GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE We are looking for a team player committed to maintaining NVRC’s facilities in order to provide excellent experiences for our customers. You will perform building service work in a recreation facility with a variety of minor maintenance repair tasks and routine janitorial duties. ABOUT YOU You are courteous and effective with customers. You have working knowledge of the materials, methods and equipment used in building maintenance and janitorial work; the ability to perform minor repair tasks, and to perform routine janitorial duties; the ability to work under minimal supervision, to ensure that janitorial tasks are completed; the ability to prepare and maintain a variety of records related to the work; and skill in the use and care of equipment used in the work. |
Requirements | DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate should have completed Grade 10, preferably supplemented by the training related to the work plus related experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Preference will be given to those who have completed a Building Service Worker Program. A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License is required. All candidates must be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position. |
Compensation | The pay for this unionized position ranges from $27.30-$31.97 per hour (2024 rates). |
Hours of Work | This is a regular full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, involving shift work including days, evenings and weekends based on operational needs. |
