North Vancouver Recreation & Culture is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. NVRC offers a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. We are currently seeking energetic, responsible and highly-motivated individuals to join our dynamic team of Early Years instructors.

Responsibilities
ABOUT THE JOB:
You will be delivering excellent customer experiences by working closely and cooperatively with parents, caregivers and children 2-5 years (Early Years). You will engage in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities. You will be ensuring children are safe and engaged while promoting a positive, healthy environment.

ABOUT YOU:
You are a courteous and effective team player committed to community. You have the ability to implement policies and procedures, as well as to supervise, coach, and mentor other leaders and volunteers when needed. You are a skilled communicator with a strong understanding of strategies to support participation and integration into a group setting, behaviour management, and early childhood development. You will also have strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem solving skills. You are able to work effectively with children, and work closely and cooperatively with parents and facility staff, while providing safe, quality programs.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred candidates will have an educational background in recreation, ECE and/or a combination of instructional experience working with children 0-5 years in a recreation setting. A current Standard First Aid and CPR -C certification is required. HIGH FIVE certification (available online through BCRPA) must be taken within 3 months of employment.

All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a condition of employment.
Compensation  The rate of pay for this casual position ranges from $22.00 - $24.00 per hour based on training and experience. 
Hours of Work Shift lengths vary between 2-6 hours between Monday – Friday, 9am-4pm.
