North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families, and communities. We offer a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. We are currently looking for Visual Arts Instructors to lead programs for adults and children in a variety of art mediums.

If you have experience teaching and practicing any of the following: weaving, textiles, drawing, watercolour or acrylic painting, photography or mixed media or you would like to propose another art medium for children, youth or adults, please connect with us through this application process. ABOUT YOU

You are a team player committed to community. You will plan and instruct art classes for adults and children. You will be working in a creative environment utilizing your leadership and people skills, developmentally plan appropriate activities while maintaining a safe environment to engage students to expand their interest in art. You are an excellent communicator with a positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude.

SKILLS REQUIRED

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Candidates must have a degree or diploma in Visual Arts or 2 years of Visual Arts education and related experience. Some previous teaching experience will be considered an asset.

All instructors working with children must have a current Standard First Aid certificate and HIGH FIVE: Principles of Healthy Child Development training (available online through BCRPA).

All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a condition of employment.
