Position Overview | The North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Commission is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. NVRC offers a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. Responsibilities | GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE You are passionate about fitness, health, and wellness and have a good understanding of what it takes to deliver exceptional fitness services, both indoors and outdoors, to the public. You will assist with various aspects of programming including planning, implementation, support, and evaluation. You will assist with administration involved in providing fitness services to the public, review and update current practices, assist with staff scheduling as needed, and respond to routine verbal and written inquiries from the public. You will assist with promotion of programs, and work with other staff members to organize events as required. You are a team player, committed to community recreation, courteous and effective with the public, and enjoy working with a diverse group of people. |
Requirements | QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by post-secondary courses on track to obtaining a Recreation Management certificate, diploma or degree, plus related experience. Familiarity with basic Community Recreation Principles and experience in the fitness industry. Certification as a Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer is an asset. A valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle for NVRC business. Compensation | The pay for this unionized position starts at $28.56 per hour (2021 rates) and has a pay structure with five steps which increase annually. |
Hours of Work | This is a regular full-time position based on 35 hours work week and involves shift work including days, evenings and weekends based on operational needs. |
