Responsibilities | GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE You will be delivering excellent customer service experiences by preparing lesson plans and instructing programs such as Learn to Skate, Learn to Play Hockey and other arena sports; demonstrating skating techniques to individuals and groups of all ages and abilities; and checking that equipment is in good working order by making minor adjustments and informing supervisors when repairs are needed. ABOUT YOU You are a team player committed to community. You are a proficient skater and have sound knowledge of ice skating skills. You are experienced in planning and teaching structured skating lessons; preparing evaluation sheets and writing progress; and setting up equipment needed for lessons. You have a genuine interest in teaching hockey skills to children and adults. You are an excellent communicator with a positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude. |
Requirements | QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Candidates must have current Standard First Aid, and have HIGH FIVE Certification or obtain HIGH FIVE certification within 3 months of hire. Teaching/instructing experience, Skate Instructor Course, Fundamental Movement Skills and NCCP certification are considered an asset. Hours may vary and instructors should be prepared to work days, evenings and/or weekends at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position. |
Compensation | $18-24 per hour depending on training and experience. |
