Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
  • Establish and communicate safety expectations within the program setting;
  • Follow policies and procedures relating to Supervision of Children and working independently/ remotely;
  • Set up and take down of program activities in shared spaces;
  • Follow school rules relating to using shared spaces and school amenities;
  • Work with After School Leader 1 to develop a safe, fun and age-appropriate program plan for participants, Grades K to 7;
  • Lead, supervise and engage with participants in program activities;
  • Lead regular communication to parents, school staff as needed and supervisors
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  • Previous experience working with children in K to Gr 7;
  • Previous experience working with children with complex needs an asset;
  • Grade 12 or post-secondary education;
  • Ability to establish good rapport with participants, co-leaders, school staff and supervisors;
  • Has the maturity to work off-site independently, use sound judgement, and make confident decisions relating to program safety, policies and procedures.
  • Available to work 1:45pm to 5:45pm, weekdays (hours vary by school location), with potential to supplement hours at other NVRC programs, dependent on program demand.

Required Licenses, Certificates and Registrations:
  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C
  • High 5 Certification

All employees should be prepared to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture program location.
All candidates are required to submit a Police Record Check as a requirement of the position prior to any appointment. Clearance requires the absence of any criminal charges or convictions related to this position.
Compensation $21.00 to $23.00 / hour Based on qualifications and experience plus 4% in lieu of benefits
Hours of Work Available to work 1:45pm to 5:45pm, weekdays (hours vary by school location), with potential to supplement hours at other NVRC programs, dependent on program demand.
